Bollywood Dance Fitness -formerly known as Just Jhoom!
Several years ago, I trained as a Just Jhoom! instructor. Just Jhoom! is the brainchild of classically-trained Indian dancer, Shalini Bhalla who has collaborated with dance, fitness and yoga professionals to create training programmes that allow her instructors to provide fun, dynamic fitness sessions to people from all walks of life! Due to personal reasons, she had to recently disband the programme, but the instructors are allowed to continue using her routines under a different name – Bollywood Dance Fitness!
It brings together aerobics, mindful movement and Bollywood dancing ( drawing on a range of styles from classical Indian dancing to Bhangra) to create a unique dance fitness experience that nourishes both body and soul!
Bollywood Dance Fitness is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels and one class can provide and safe and fun exercise experience to a wide range of ages and abilities. However, I do offer three different formats of Just Jhoom! classes:
Warm up, pulse-raiser, main workout of 7-9 routines, cool down. Continuous exercise similar to Zumba Fitness classes. Perfect for those who want the focus of their class to be fitness.
Modifications are shown for those who want to lower the intensity and level of impact!
The photo shows bare feet but I advise trainers for support and protecting your feet!
