Calamity at Pembroke Castle

A body has been found in the middle of the Great Map in the courtyard of Pembroke Castle.  The body is of Biff Wellington, the chef at a local restaurant.  The murder scene has been staged – Biff was killed elsewhere and placed there for dramatic effect.  The local detective, DC Halva Brain, is struggling with solving this case.  Can you help her to solve it?  A tattered business card has been found in Biff’s pocket.  Can you use the information on it to work out the name, nationality and profession of the murderer?  There is also a very old flier for a pub.  Could this lead to the murderer’s whereabouts?  The murderer has scrawled a word and a number across Biff’s chest.  What do they mean? Can you work out the name of the pub and its address? Are you feeling sleuthful?

Directions

Simply follow the clues around the town from start to finish at South Quay Car Park 6, Northgate Street, Pembroke SA71 4NT.  (Alternative parking sites are available!) All the answers to each clue will give you an INCORRECT piece of information!  Simply cross it from the Answer sheet.  In a process of elimination, you will be left with the correct answers!  You will then be able to work out all of the answers above to solve the case!

Accessibility

The entire route is on pavements, hard paths and roads. There are no steps on the route.

Solved the Puzzle?  When you purchase your downloadable trail booklet, you will also get the options to download the solution page at the same time. (but DON’T peek!)

Standard Booklet  as pdf download   £10.99    Suitable for  a group of 2-4 to share.  Please note, that although it is possible to read the clues on a mobile device, it will be tricky because of having to scroll backwards and forwards to access the list of suspects etc for elimination purposes.  The trail is NOT INTERACTIVE, therefore you would still need a pen and paper to make notes.  We recommend printing at home for the best experience!

It was a great day, I thoroughly enjoyed it, for more than the obvious reasons. ( the winner)  You are all a great bunch of people and ultimately the cause that money was being raised for is, most likely, dear to everyone’s hearts. Ultimately it is fundraising like this that helps push forward the treatments which in turn helps the people it will benefit the most.”    Collette Burns
