A Buzz Around Brodick – a Sherlock Shenanigans!

A Buzz Around Brodick is an adventure around the town, golf course, and shoreline of the island town of Brodick.    The trail starts at The Brodick Information Centre, The Pier, Brodick, KA27 8AU near the Ferry Terminal and finishes near to the Little Rock Cafe.   The trails will lead you through some well-camouflaged and hidden paths and will lead you to lots of interesting nooks and crannies that, as a visitor, you may not otherwise explore!  The trail is not suitable unfortunately for prams or wheelchair users as there are some narrow, rough paths and steps.  The trail is 4.5 miles long but there are a great choice of refreshments en route: The Ormidale Hotel, Cafe Rosaburn at the Heritage Museum, Janie’s Cafe at Home Farm and The Wine Port at Cladach or you could pack a picnic and stop wherever you want.  All of the above have toilets for customers’ use and there are public toilets at the car park behind the small Co-op.  Please research opening times of cafes before you go!

This trail is one of our trademark Sherlock Shennanigans’ type.  It is all written in rhyming couplets with some straightforward and some a bit more cyptic!  Solve the clues and write down the answers either on the trail booklet (if you choose to print it off at home) or on a separate piece of paper (if you are using a hand held mobile device).  When you have finished the trail, you can then use the answers to work out the final riddle!!

It was a great day, I thoroughly enjoyed it, for more than the obvious reasons. ( the winner)  You are all a great bunch of people and ultimately the cause that money was being raised for is, most likely, dear to everyone’s hearts. Ultimately it is fundraising like this that helps push forward the treatments which in turn helps the people it will benefit the most.”    Collette Burns
